As I sit on my sofa
facing south
I hear the crickets,
little pinpricks of sound
in the night.
I open wide
to the stars and beyond,
to that which we call God.
I open to the sound of
the crickets,
the darkness,
the stillness;
float in it,
be it.
When the thoughts
tumble through,
I return to the crickets.
